A Day with Biscuits and Cookies~ ^^

Eating biscuits are really easy. Just pop them in your mouth, chew them and swallow. Simple right? =] Well do you ever know how hard it is to make some? No? Well I don't either. Normally, I will just help around a little bit when my mum is making biscuits, like molding or sweeping on the egg yolks. Of course, I know the procedures of making biscuits. (Hey, they're showed on TV!) HOWEVER, it is a different thing when you actually experiences it yourself, and that is exactly what I did today. :)

I won't go ranting on every tiny detail of what I did today. You'll be bored to death. Instead, let me show you the pictures. These are what I made with my family. Looks great right? Course it does if you spent the whole day producing them! Especially when you put in a lot of effort, time and energy into it.

Ready for the oven

Lining up...

Fresh from the oven! Nice and hot.

Cookies made today.... Yummy right?

There.... By the end of the day, besides feeling really tired and getting backaches, I also felt satisfaction, happiness and pure joy. Making cookies and biscuits are really fun---IF you put your heart into it. Yea, the hoping, anticipation and laughter that we went through trying to make the best cookies ever... It is something that you'll really cherish. Cheers! =)

A Night Without Electricity

I was returning home yesterday evening from piano lesson. The sun has not fully set yet and there was still some light, so everything was still visible without turning on the car's headlights.

When the car turned into the road leading to my home, what we saw was a really big shock. A lamp post was standing lopsided and the electric cables are actually dangling from one side of the road to another. There were debris everywhere. Is this a war zone? What happened here? These thoughts flitted through my mind as I scanned the whole road. That was the time when I realized that there was no light emitting from all houses on that street. Poor observation right? OK, I admit that I was busy trying to block out the smells of yummy pizzas wafting through the box just beside me. Too hungry by then. >~<

Well, thank god that we went back early and there's enough space for us to go through. I wouldn't like to imagine what's going to happen if it's dark when we were back or if the cables are hanging too low. =0

So we had a candle lit dinner that night, which dad insisted on doing so. I don't really mind if there's no light source. It's not like you're going to stick food up your nostrils right? ^^

There was NOTHING that we can do that night. No electricity means no light. No light equals to no books. No electricity also means no telly, no computer, no radio... We could practically do nothing except to sit around and talk. This made me think about how much people nowadays rely on electricity. Without electricity, we live like cavemen. After the sun sets, the only activity we can engage in are either listening to the sounds of the night or sleeping (besides talking which I mentioned above).

I was wondering when will the electricity recover as I moved towards the front door and peered out. The night sky was actually very bright compared to what I had expected. In fact, I thought it was still evening until I looked at the clock. It was nine. Gosh. I slipped out of the house and saw that there was a bright silvery orb up in the sky. So that was it. The answer. It's a night with full moon. I never knew that it could be so bright with a full moon in the sky! Alright, I did read from storybooks saying that the moon shines so brightly, making the whole world silvery and so on. Something like that. I even wrote about it before. However, seeing it with your own eyes IS a different story.

It has been many years since I saw a firefly. Well guess what, I actually saw one that night! It even flew around just in front of me! Can you imagine how excited I was? It was a really pretty little thing. The soft, green light that it emits was just entrancing.

Ding... The clock chimed one. I was already asleep for a few hours by then. Well, what else can I do except to sleep? I was woken up by the rumblings of a lorry. Bleary eyed, I got up and peeped at the window. It was the local electricians! They were actually coming to fix the cables. AND it was in the middle of the night too! Can you believe that? Well I sure did not at first. I rubbed my eyes and looked again. (No pinching...) They were really there! Hooray! Medals for them. =)

The electricity came back some time later. Thanks a lot to them! And so here I end for today.

*Please note that while the main part of this story is real, some elements are purely fictional.

Eating Hard Boiled Eggs

Eggs, eggs, eggs... One of the most wonderful, tastiest food that I have ever come across. (Ahem, I mean chicken eggs here...) I like eggs. Who doesn't? (Oh okay, some do not... ) Chicken eggs are very nutritious. Years ago, I came across a really great way of eating hard boiled eggs. Good news is, I am going to share it here. Better news? It is really easy to make and does not take much time.  =)

Alright, eggs can be hard-boiled, half-boiled, steamed, fried, poached... You name it. While most methods of cooking and preparing eggs seasons them during the process, hard-boiled eggs can be a little bit tasteless. So, try this little egg recipe here. It may not be very presentable as the dishes served in high-class restaurants and hotels, but I can assure you that it is extremely scrumptious! ^^

~

Ingredients needed: One hard boiled egg, mayonnaise, white pepper, salt/ soy sauce,
                              cucumber ribbons(for garnishing)

Steps: 1) Remove the egg shell and cut it very neatly into half diagonally. Make sure that
the egg yolk is positioned in the middle and distributed equally on both sides.

           2) Scrape out the egg yolk and place them into a small bowl. Crush the egg yolk.
           3) Add in two teaspoons of mayonnaise (or more to your liking) to the egg yolk.
           4) Add a pinch of salt or a small dabble of soy sauce to the mixture. This step can
be ignored if you want to go healthy. =]
           5) Now shake in a little pepper and mix the mixture thoroughly.

           6) Scoop the egg yolk back into the egg whites and place them on a nice plate.
           7) Garnish it with cucumber ribbons. (This is optional, but no worries, click HERE if
you want to know how to make some. )

           8) Pick up a spoon, sit back and ENJOY =)

~

This little recipe here is good as a great starter for a whole new day or as a side dish. You can even make this into a delicious and healthy snack! Hope you all like this. =]

2. At the right side of the top navigation bar, click on the rightmost icon.
3. Click Account settings
4. Click 'edit' for the Language option

Arrr.... now yer ship is ready to sail!

*Ps: in case you forget, to change back to normal, choose ye ship's rigging for account settings.

Tip#2: Turn your Facebook upside down
Now, you do not need to learn to do a headstand to make your Facebook turn upside down.
1. Steps as in tip#1 from 1 to 4.
2. Instead of choosing English(pirate) from the dropdown menu, click English (Upside
    Down).

With this setting, every word will be turned upside down except for names and people's posts.

Tip#3: Cool text effects
Don't you want to post a Facebook status that's simply COOL? Check this out!
1. To writing upside down and/or backwards, go to Upside Down Text.
Here are some examples of what it can do:
    -Backwards effect: elpmaxE
    -Upside Down effect: Ǝxɐɯdlǝ
-Backwards and upside down effect: ǝldɯɐxƎ

2. Creating symbols such as stars, smiles, bubble words and many more. Here are some
websites that you can surf for them: ( well I googled it, these are for your easy access

2. Click on the "Notifications" tab on the left side of the page.
3. Browse through the apps and deactivate those you do not want.

Tip#5: Forwarding messages
Retyping similar messages can be a bother. Here's a tip on how to forward them without actually copying and pasting them to multiple people.
1. Click on d message icon on the left of the top navigation bar.
2. Select the person with the message you want to forward. (Make sure that your
conversation is displayed full page and not just a small chat box at the bottom)
3. Click on "Actions" and select "Forward Messages..."
4. You can now check the boxes for the messages you want to forward.
5. Next, click on the forward button (obviously) and you can now insert the name of your
friend or email address at the space provided.
